My name is Tereso Cobian. I’m a comic book creator based in Eugene, Oregon. I’ve been drawing my whole life, and making comics since 2013. Growing up, I spent a lot of time skateboarding at Cal Young Skatepark with a crew that became known locally as Cal Young Crew. That energy, mixed with the music I was listening to back then (artists like Three 6 Mafia, Wu Tang and Deltron 3030) started shaping the sound and feel of the story I wanted to tell. That’s how Cal Young Comics and Private Posse were born. When I started focusing on comics, I was living in New York City and quickly realized it was the perfect setting. The comic became heavily influenced by music, graffiti, and skateboarding culture. I’ve always tried to bring raw authenticity to my art and storytelling, while also tapping into the nostalgia of classic comics. Everything you see in Private Posse is created by me. I handle the writing, artwork, design, and story myself. Building this comic one issue at a time with my family as my support system hasn’t been easy, but it’s allowed me to keep the story pure and uncompromised. With every campaign, every drop, and every page, I’m growing this universe with help from a small but passionate community of supporters. Cal Young Comics is about culture, creativity, and reclaiming our artistic history. For a long time, I knew I wanted to do something with my art but didn’t know what. When I found comics, I realized they were the perfect way to channel my ideas while also inspiring others to start their own projects.
